"to go/act against one's better judgement" means to force yourself to act contrary to your beliefs; to do something although you believe it is wrong or inappropriate in  agiven situation = въпреки собственото мнение (особено под натиск) Example: I hope you realize that I'm acting against my better judgement  in allowiong you to get married before you're 20.
