Idiom: A place in the sun; „

Explanation: A job or situation which makes you happy and gives you everything you need and want.

Example: She changed her job for a lower paid one but she’s happy, so she finally found her place in the sun.

Idiom: To think the sun shines out of someone's backside (very casual/not polite); „

Explanation: To love someone so much that you think they are perfect. This has a negative image as we usually use it when someone loves another person too much and forgets their faults.

Example: They think the sun shines out of his backside! They would do anything for him, but they have to let him have his one life.

Idiom: A knight in shining armour;

Explanation: Someone who helps you when you really need help

Example: You are my knight in shining armour! I wouldn’t get to work on time if you didn’t help me start the car.

Idiom: To take a shine to someone; „

Explanation: To be attracted to someone or to like them. Usually with new people we meet.

Example: It looks like Angela has taken a shine to the new guy in the office, but he doesn’t share her feelings.
